There are many ways to make illustration-style outlines of your mesh geometry, but most of them use post-processing after the image has been rendered. This Geometry Node setup finds the visible boundaries on your mesh and makes new edges to highlight your shapes and curves, for new visual effects.
Two sample scenes show off a couple of possible effects, but there are many other ways to incorporate dynamic outlining for you to discover.
Works with Blender versions from 3.2 upward.
You'll get a Blender file with a Geometry Node modifier which outlines any object dynamically and non-destructively.
Outline from any Angle
You supply the vantage point, such as your Camera object, and the modifier calculates ONLY the appropriate edges for outlining dynamically, even in animations.
Choose your Outline Thickness
You control the thickness of the outlines added, and whether or not they get bolder or thinner due to perspective.
Choose your Interior Material
The original mesh remains unmodified, or you can choose to override all of its materials with another material for a "hidden line removal" effect.
